2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
In the title sequence, a cartoon set is established with characters that look like the actors. The set shows a town, billboards, cars, shops, roads, rooms, bathrooms and then shows a school where the cartoon images then dissolve into a real school showing students.
3. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?
Charm and energy are established through the opening sequence relating to the musical and comedy aspects of the film. The music is rock n roll styled which relates to the original musical the film was based off steering towards the idea of finding romance. Two main characters are established of opposite genders who later in the film end up together.
